Over the years that Jon has served as the Willow District councilperson, his commitment to bettering our city has not waivered. He prides himself on intentionally making an effort to seek out the goals, concerns, and values of the communities in Peoria, and provide the pathways for residents to have a voice in their city. He has also worked to better our economic development by bringing in business, entertainment, and retail concepts that residents have directly reached out and suggested to our team. Simply put, Jon cares about continuing to make Peoria a wonderful place to live, and he finds that the best way to do that is through actively engaging in our communities.
By voting in local elections, you are participating in the democratic process. Your voice is significantly stronger in your local election than you may think, and it is our civic duty to voice our support for those that represent our own ideas, values, and interests in city government. When your trash didn’t get picked up this week or the pothole on your street isn’t being resolved, it is your local representative that you call to voice your concerns. Your local representatives also vote on matters that directly affect you such as police funding, waste collection, utilities, local schools, and housing/zoning. It is important that people serve their civic duty, and have a direct input as to who they want to be the voice of their community.
